High-Voltage Drivetrain Engineer

As a High-Voltage Drivetrain Engineer at HUST, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the most critical parts of our solar car. You will be responsible for ensuring that the drivetrain system, including the battery pack, motor controller, and motor, is reliable, safe, and optimized for performance over 3,000 km of racing in the Australian outback.

  • Learn about battery management systems (BMS) and electrochemical cells

  • Research and evaluate optimal battery cell configurations

  • Configure, calibrate, and test the BMS

  • Gain hands-on knowledge of high-voltage safety mechanisms and standards

  • Learn about BLDC motor controllers and high-efficiency drive systems

  • Set up, tune, and operate a BLDC motor for maximum efficiency

  • Collaborate closely with other subteams to integrate the drivetrain with the rest of the car

  • Troubleshoot, test, and refine the drivetrain system under real-world conditions

  • Want to pursue a future career in high-voltage systems such as electrical drives, renewable energy, or battery development and R&D

  • Enjoy problem-solving and are not afraid to take initiative

  • Are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

  • Have a basic understanding of electronics or power systems (preferred but not mandatory)
