Subteams
electrical
Focuses on the car’s power systems and electronics. This team develops and maintains the solarplane, battery systems, motor controllers, and telemetry to optimize performance and efficiency during the race.
High-Voltage Drivetrain Engineer
Build and optimize the car’s high-voltage drivetrain. Work with batteries, motors, and controllers to power 3,000 km of racing.
Develop real-time communication between the car and support vehicle. Turn live data into insights that drive strategy and performance.
Telemetry & Communications Engineer
Low-Voltage Hardware & PCB Engineer
Design and build the car’s electronic backbone. Create efficient PCBs that handle lighting, communication, and control systems.
Solar Energy Systems Engineer
Design and optimize the car’s solar array. Push the limits of renewable energy and power the entire race with the sun.
Race Strategy Engineer
Transform data into winning decisions. Simulate, plan, and adapt strategies to guide the team across 3,000 km of outback racing.
Mechanical
Designs and builds the physical structure of the solar car. This includes the chassis, aerodynamics, suspension, and all moving parts. The group ensures safety, efficiency, and durability on the road.
Composite Lamination engineer
Shape the car’s carbon and glass fiber structure. Work hands-on with advanced materials and turn design into reality.
Wheel assembly engineer
Design and build the car’s wheel assembly. Combine precision engineering and testing to create a safe, high-performance ride.
Structural design engineer
Develop the driver cell and rear frame for maximum safety and strength. Use CAD and simulation to make every gram count
mechanical systems engineer
Design and refine mechanical systems like hinges, locks, and linkages. Bring practical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
aerodynamics engineer
Craft the shape of our solar car. Use aerodynamics and design to reduce drag, boost performance, and define its iconic look.
