Structural Design Engineer

HUST is currently seeking one dedicated student to take on the Monocoque and Rear Frame role for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2027. As a Structural Design Engineer at HUST, you will focus on the monocoque and rear frame — two of the most crucial parts of the car’s chassis. You will ensure structural integrity, safety, and efficiency through advanced design, modeling, and testing.

  • Take ownership of the design and development of the monocoque and rear frame

  • Contribute to the structural integrity and safety of the vehicle

  • Collaborate with the mechanical team to turn design concepts into reality

  • Engage with our industry partners to refine and validate design solutions

  • Apply simulation techniques to evaluate mechanical performance

As part of this role, you will:

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong interest in structural design and manufacturing

  • Isn’t afraid of setbacks and challenges

  • Has basic CAD skills and a willingness to learn simulation tools

  • Is passionate about sustainability, technology, and innovation

  • Has some experience with mechanical systems or materials (preferred but not mandatory)

  • Skills in Finite Element Method (FEM) simulation and ANSYS (preferred but not mandatory)
