Telemetry & Communications Engineer
As the Telemetry & Communications Engineer in HUST, you will develop and maintain the systems that allow our solar car to communicate with the support vehicle in real time. Your work will ensure that the team has access to critical information such as speed, energy consumption, solar production, and temperatures throughout the race. This role combines embedded programming, wireless communication, and user interface development into one of the most dynamic positions on the team.

Work with wireless communication systems such as LoRa to transmit live vehicle data
Program embedded systems to handle communication between the car’s processor and the radio module
Develop protocols to ensure reliable and efficient data transfer
Build and refine a complete interactive user interface for the support vehicle
Integrate multiple data streams (battery, motor, solar array, temperatures, etc.) into a clear, usable dashboard
Collaborate with other parts of the team to make sure the data matches their needs (e.g., electrical, mechanical, and strategy)
Test, troubleshoot, and optimize the communication system under real-world conditions
