As a mechanical engineer in the team, I get to work hands-on with technical challenges, which makes the role both exciting and educational. I’m developing my skills in problem-solving and mechanical construction, and I gain valuable experience in taking ideas from concept to reality.
The best part of HUST is the community and the feeling that we are building something together. Everyone is driven and motivated, which creates a fun and inspiring environment where you learn from one another. It’s rewarding to be part of a team where you can grow both technically and personally.

Joining HUST felt like a natural step for me, giving me the opportunity to work on an exciting and challenging project while gaining hands-on experience. I enjoy applying knowledge from both previous and current courses to a real project, and working in such a driven team motivates me to keep learning and improving my skills.
In the Structural Design Team, I get to work with the development of the car’s structure and learn more about composites, CAD, and design for both performance and manufacturability. The role involves working closely with other sub-teams to balance performance and regulations while ensuring a safe design for the driver.
Alongside the technical work, another great part of HUST is getting the opportunity to meet other students, companies, and professionals in the industry.

HUST allows you to learn many skills that aren't taught in school otherwise. The freeform nature of a group of students running a project on their own accord, from marketing and finance, to design and production presents many challenges. Working as a team across multiple disciplines with likeminded students and engineers creates one of the most rewarding projects I have been a part of.
I have been a part of HUST and the mechanical team since the end of 2023. My main responsibility has been composite part production and simulations for our monocoque structure. This has been challenging since it's a material I haven't worked with in the past so I have had to learn many of the skills needed during the project. Learning from past team members and our industry partners have helped me a lot along the way.
Apart from the previously mentioned opportunity to learn, the project is an exciting competition and challenge. During my time with the team we have competed both in Belgium and Australia. The races I have been a part of have been great adventures that I wouldn't have had the opportunity to make any other way.

For me, being part of HUST is a special opportunity to learn from the various expertise of my teammates and to grow together, closing the gap between individual study and collaborative, real world engineering.
My role as Structural Design engineer involves learning how to design the car's chassis to ensure safety and efficiency. I look forward to improving my skills in CAD software and understanding how to balance structural integrity with weight optimization.
The best thing so far is the energy and ambition of the team. Even as a new member I feel the shared drive to innovate and the supportive environment where everyone pushes each other to solve complex problems together.

Being part of HUST is to me a way of learning new things, connecting with people and having fun. learning to create, and work together with new people while getting to know them. In HUST I get to challenge myself and grow as a person learning outside of the classroom.
As a mechanical systems engineer in HUST i work together with a lot of people in the team to be able to design and build smart solutions, working from design to finished product.
The best part about being part of HUST is being part of a team of people with the same ambition towards the project. Being part of the HUST community means meeting new friends, working and having fun while doing it, always having someone to ask for help if you get stuck and being able to discuss different solutions. Being part of a team where everyone has different skills, experiences and ideas working together towards the same goal.

Joining HUST provided me with a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and gain practical engineering experience. It also allows me to put my theoretical knowledge into practice and turn ideas into reality.
As part of the mechanical systems team, I have the chance to contribute to various areas, which gives me an overview of the entire car. I also have a lot of freedom in how I approach and solve problems. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoy the hands-on, practical work that is a big part of my role.
Furthermore, working on a solar car is very rewarding since it is such a relevant project. It is exciting to be part of a project that focuses on developing green technology and creating solutions that will have a genuine, positive impact on the future.
For me, the best part of HUST is the community and the people I get to work alongside.

For me HUST is an opportunity to broaden my horizons and learn more about what it means to create something far beyond what any purely academic program can offer.
As a part of the mechanical team and as a Composite Lamination Engineer I will work with manufacturing the body and monocoque of the car using composite materials such as carbon fibre. I believe that this role gives an invaluable opportunity to learn about modern manufacturing processes as well as a great way to get connections in the industry.
The best thing about HUST is learning to work as a team to solve difficult engineering problems and to gain real world experience and of course to meet new friends.

I am a part of the composite lamination team where I get to work with hands-on craftsmanship to bring our aerodynamic visions to life. In the world of composites, every layer matters, and I find a unique satisfaction in the precision required to transform raw materials into a high-performance shell. Being part of HUST is a unique opportunity for me to apply my studies in a real-world project where performance, efficiency and reliability truly matter.
As part of the wheel assembly team, I work with the design and development of the car’s suspension system. This role allows me to deepen my understanding of vehicle dynamics, load cases and material selection while also gaining hands-on experience in CAD and engineering analysis. It’s a constant balance between minimizing weight and ensuring structural integrity which makes the work both challenging and highly rewarding.
What I value most about HUST is the opportunity to take real responsibility for complex engineering problems. It forces me to think critically, make decisions under uncertainty and continuously improve my technical skills in a way traditional coursework can’t do. This is all done together with a focused and ambitious team where good teamwork is essential.

Being a part of HUST is a great way to gain engineering experience during my studies. Working on a real project where I can see the results of my work is motivating.
My part in the mechanical team is working on the wheel-assembly but I am also involved with the mechanical systems. Getting to apply my studies and finding solutions to real problems is a great opportunity to learn new things and grow as an engineer.
The best part of HUST is being a part of a real team working towards a common goal, where everyone has a different area of expertise. HUST is a great way to prepare me for my future career and seeing all the different systems that make up the solar car come together is amazing!

I’m a Development Engineering student with an interest in working with products and finding practical solutions. I like being part of projects where I can develop my skills, try new things, and work together with others towards a common goal. For me, it’s about gaining experience and understanding how things actually work in practice.
Being part of HUST means a great opportunity for me to grow both technically and personally. I joined for the chance to gain valuable experience, and to strengthen my CV. It was also recommended to me by a reletive to gain new experience and to try something outside of my comfort zone.
My role is Wheel Assembly Engineer, which is not an area I have prior experience in. I study Development Engineering, and this position is not directly related to my main studies. However, I see it as a great opportunity to learn new skills and gain practical experience in a real project environment. It allows me to step outside my usual field and develop by working with tasks I haven’t done before.

Being part of HUST gives me the opportunity to experience what engineering is really about beyond the classroom. It provides valuable hands-on experience that is difficult to gain elsewhere as a student. It also motivates my studies, as i get to apply and test my knowledge in a real-world project.
As a Driver System Engineer, i work on developing the steering wheel and steering system for the solar car. This involves a lot of CAD design and prototyping, as well as close collaboration with both the electrical team and the wheel assembly engineers. Through this role, i gain experience in system integration and practical engineering design.
The best thing about HUST is the opportunity to work on a real, large-scale engineering project with real consequences and deadlines. It creates a sense of responsibility that you don't get from regular coursework. It´s also a great way to collaborate with a driven team and build valuable connections with both fellow students and industry professionals.
